Straight answers, in one place.
If you're comparing kennel software, you have real questions — about what's actually live, what it costs, whether your team will use it, and what happens to your data. Here are the honest answers, grouped so you can scan to the one you came for. Anything we didn't cover, you can ask the founder directly.
Product & how it works
What BarkWhiz does, what's actually live today, and how the AI keeps your team in control. For the deeper "why," see Why BarkWhiz.
Most kennel software is a ledger: it records that things happened. BarkWhiz acts on what happened — surfacing the follow-up, the rebooking, the at-risk client — with AI drafting the next step and your team deciding. It's built by an operator, for the floor, not the back office.
We're pre-launch and onboarding our first operators by hand. Live today: reservations and scheduling, kennel and care operations (feeding, meds, incidents), customer and dog records, AI-assisted pet-parent updates, a staff CRM and pipeline workspace, billing and subscriptions, and role-based multi-facility access. Also live and in real use with our first facilities (early access): a branded customer portal with self-service online booking, vaccine uploads, and pay-your-balance-online; your own white-label public booking pages; loyalty and membership pricing honored automatically at booking; and Google reviews capture. Automated email and text reminders and follow-ups now send straight from BarkWhiz too — with AI-drafted pet-parent updates still reviewed by a person before they go out. On integrations, QuickBooks is live today. Under the hood, BarkWhiz runs on Stripe for payments and billing, Twilio for texting, and Resend for email — those power live features, and more operator-facing integrations are in active development. Self-serve sign-up and dynamic pricing are still in the works too. We'd rather be upfront about that than oversell. Ask us anything on your call.
No. BarkWhiz is built around a simple promise: AI drafts, your team decides. The AI writes the first version of a pet-parent update, follow-up, or pricing nudge — then a human on your team reviews it and decides whether to send it, change it, or hold it. No AI-written message reaches a client without a person saying yes; the AI never sends its own drafts. (Routine reminders you've set up — an upcoming-stay or vaccine-expiry nudge — can go out automatically over email and text; the AI-drafted relationship messages always wait for your review.)
That's the whole design goal. High-frequency tasks are built for dramatically fewer clicks, with a floor-friendly shift view — and we onboard each founding facility by hand, so your team is set up properly, not left to figure it out.
BarkWhiz is built for boarding, daycare, and training operations — reservations, care on the floor, customer records, and the follow-up that drives revenue. Grooming isn't a feature set we offer, so if that's the core of your business we'd rather tell you straight than pretend to fit.
Pricing & founding membership
No demo gauntlet, no sales rep, no deck. Here's how pricing and the founding offer actually work.
Founding facilities receive Ops + CRM for $249/month, locked for 24 months. After that, they retain a permanent 15% discount from the then-current list price.

Switching & migration
Moving off your current software is the scariest part of any switch. Here's how we take that off your plate. More detail lives on Make the Switch, plus our boarding, daycare, and training pages and pricing.
Yes — white-glove migration is part of founding membership. We move your customers, pets, and history over for you rather than handing you a spreadsheet and wishing you luck.
Less than you're bracing for. Because we onboard every founding facility by hand, we do the heavy lifting on migration and setup, then walk your team through the day-to-day so the floor isn't left guessing. You're not buying a login and a help center — you're getting set up properly.
You can take it with you. We'll help you export your customers, pets, and history — the same care we put into moving you in, we put into letting you go. No hostage-taking.
Data & security
Your customer list, your pets' histories, your revenue — that's the business. For the full picture, see Security & your data.
Your data is yours — your customers, your pets, your business. It's encrypted in transit and at rest, access is role-based across five roles so the front desk, managers, and owners each see only what's appropriate, and each facility's data is isolated from every other facility's. We don't store raw card numbers, and we don't sell your data or share it for advertising. Full stop.
BarkWhiz uses a third-party AI provider to generate drafts — like a pet-parent update — from your facility's activity. We don't sell your data, and a human on your team always reviews AI output before anything is sent or acted on. We're happy to walk through exactly how the AI features handle data on a call.
No. Payments are handled by an established, PCI-compliant payment processor. Raw card data goes to them, not into BarkWhiz — so your most sensitive payment data never lands in our database.
Yes. Your data is yours — you can request an export or deletion of your facility's data. See our Privacy Policy for how requests are handled, or just ask us directly.
The company
Who's behind BarkWhiz, and why we're starting small on purpose.
BarkWhiz is founder-operated. Ryan Leach — MBA, and the operator of two Sit Means Sit dog-training franchises in Dallas and College Station — is building the system he wished he'd had after more than a decade running pet-care operations. It's built from real time on the floor, not a whiteboard. You can read the full story on Why BarkWhiz.
It's founder-operated and built from real operational experience — and we're deliberately starting with a small first cohort so we can get it right rather than over-promise at scale. Founding members get a direct line to the founder the whole way. And your data is never hostage either way — you can export your customers, pets, and history at any time (see "Can I get my data exported or deleted?" above).
Request early access and we'll set up a short, no-pressure call with the founder — not a sales rep — to see whether BarkWhiz fits the way your facility actually runs. If it's a fit, we handle the migration and onboarding by hand. If it isn't, we'll tell you that too.
