Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, how BarkWhiz handles your information across both our marketing website at barkwhiz.app and the BarkWhiz application at app.barkwhiz.app. BarkWhiz is an early-access product for pet-care facilities; we're onboarding our first facilities by hand, and we'll keep this policy current as the product grows. Who this covers
This policy applies to visitors to our website, and to the facilities and staff members who use the BarkWhiz application. Where your facility uses BarkWhiz to manage its own customers and their pets, your facility owns that customer and pet data; BarkWhiz stores and processes it to provide the service on your behalf, and never sells it.
What we collect
On our website (barkwhiz.app)
When you request early access, you share the information you choose to provide: your name, email address, phone number, business name, website, current software platform, services offered, selected operational pain points, and any optional workflow description. We also include landing-page and referral metadata with the submission, such as the page you entered from and campaign identifiers, so we can understand where requests come from. If you request the portal checklist by email, we collect your email address to send that checklist and the future report update described on that form.
Website form submissions go only to founder@barkwhiz.app through FormSubmit so we can respond to your request. FormSubmit documents that it keeps a submission archive for 30 days.
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity load only after you accept analytics cookies. They help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it, and may set cookies and record general usage information such as pages viewed, clicks, approximate location, and device/browser type. Microsoft Clarity may capture anonymized session interactions (for example, how a page is scrolled).
In the BarkWhiz application (app.barkwhiz.app)
When a facility signs up and uses BarkWhiz, we store the information your team enters to run the business — your account and staff profiles, your customers and their pets, reservations and appointments, care and activity logs, messages and follow-ups your team drafts, and billing details. We also store information from any third-party services you choose to connect, as described in the next section.
Google user data & third-party integrations
The BarkWhiz application can connect to third-party services on your behalf. Where those services are Google services, we request only the minimum access needed for the feature you're using, and we handle that data as described below. Connecting any integration is optional and is something you choose to do.
Google Sign-In
Scopes: openid, email, profile. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your basic Google profile — your name, email address, and profile picture — solely to create and authenticate your BarkWhiz account. We do not use this information for advertising.
Google Calendar
Scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events. When a facility connects Google Calendar, BarkWhiz creates, updates, and removes calendar events that mirror that facility's BarkWhiz reservations and appointments. The sync is one-way: BarkWhiz is the source of truth, and we only write the events needed to reflect your bookings — we do not read or store the rest of your calendar. Access is granted per facility: the Google account you connect authorizes only that facility's calendar sync. We use this access solely to provide the calendar-sync feature.
How we store and protect this access
When you connect a Google integration, Google provides BarkWhiz with OAuth access tokens. We store these tokens encrypted, scoped to your facility, and use them only to provide the feature you connected. We never sell Google user data, and we never use it for advertising or to train AI/ML models.
Google API Limited Use
BarkWhiz's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including the Limited Use requirements.
Other connected services
You may also connect non-Google services. Stripe processes subscription billing and customer payments (BarkWhiz does not store full card numbers — Stripe handles them). QuickBooks (Intuit), when connected, syncs billing and accounting data. Twilio (text) and Resend (email) deliver the messages your team sends. Each connection is optional and used only to provide the feature you enabled.
How we use it
- To respond to early-access requests and communicate with you.
- To provide, operate, secure, and improve the BarkWhiz application for your facility.
- To run the integrations you've connected — for example, mirroring your reservations to Google Calendar, or delivering the email/text messages your team drafts and approves.
- To understand and improve how the site and product work.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use Google user data for advertising or AI/ML training.
Who we share it with (sub-processors)
We share information only with the service providers that help us run BarkWhiz, and only so they can provide their service to us:
- FormSubmit — delivery and 30-day archiving of early-access and portal-checklist form submissions.
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity — optional website analytics that load only after consent.
- Google APIs / Google Cloud — Google Sign-In and, when you connect it, Google Calendar sync.
- Supabase — our application's database and backend, including the encrypted storage of integration access tokens.
- Stripe — subscription billing and customer payments.
- Intuit QuickBooks — accounting and billing sync, when connected.
- Twilio and Resend — delivery of the text and email messages your team sends.
- Our hosts — GoDaddy (the marketing website) and Vercel (the application).
We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
Disconnecting an integration, and deleting your data
You stay in control of any integration you connect, and you can revoke our access at any time:
- Revoke from your Google Account — remove BarkWhiz's access at any time from your Google Account permissions. This immediately cuts off our access.
- Disconnect in BarkWhiz — you can disconnect a connected integration from your BarkWhiz account settings.
- Email us — write to founder@barkwhiz.app and we'll disconnect the integration and delete the stored data for you.
We retain Google user data only while your integration is connected and your account is active. When you disconnect an integration or close your account, we delete the associated OAuth tokens and the data we synced for that feature.
How we protect it
We use encryption in transit and at rest, per-facility data isolation, and role-based access controls. For more on how the application protects your data, see our Security & data page.
Your choices
You can ask us to access or delete the information you've shared — just email founder@barkwhiz.app, reach us through the early-access form, or reply to any email you receive from us. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. You can also reopen Cookie Settings to withdraw analytics consent; BarkWhiz then disables analytics and clears the analytics cookies it can access.
Changes
As BarkWhiz grows, we may update this policy. We'll revise the "last updated" date above when we do.
