Onboarding & migration

We move you over. You don't lose a weekend.

Switching software is the scary part — so we do the heavy lifting for you. We bring your customers, pets, and history across from your current system, you check the numbers and sign off, your team trains on the workflows you actually run, and the founder is on hand for go-live. Most founding facilities are live within about a week.

White-glove migration, not a spreadsheet dump

The reason most operators stay on software they've outgrown is the dread of moving. So we don't hand you an export and wish you luck — we bring your data across for you, show you exactly what came over, and you sign off before anything goes live. For founding facilities, onboarding and migration are included — there's no setup fee.

We move it for you

Your customers, pets, vaccine records, and reservation history come across from your current system — handled by us, not bolted onto your team's to-do list.

You review and sign off

Before go-live you get a preview — record counts and the workflows that matter — and we reconcile anything that looks off together. Nothing flips over until you say it's right.

Included, no setup fee

For founding facilities, onboarding and migration are part of membership — not a line item. Founding pricing is locked in for life on top of that.

How onboarding works, step by step

Because we onboard by hand, every step has a person on it — the founder, who still runs a kennel. Here's the path from “let's talk” to “we're live.”

1. Fit call (~20 min)

We learn how your facility actually runs and confirm BarkWhiz is ready for your critical workflows. No deck, no sales rep — a real conversation with the founder.

2. Workflow & data review

We map your setup — how you book, check in, and bill — and tell you exactly what to export from your current system. We take it from there.

3. Import preview & reconciliation

We bring your customers, pets, and history into BarkWhiz, then walk you through a preview. You check the counts and the key workflows and sign off — before anything is live.

4. Staff training

We train your team on your real daily workflows — the morning rush, care logging, check-out — not a generic demo. The point is that they can use it on a busy Saturday.

5. Go-live, founder-supported

You pick the day. Some facilities hard-cut over with the founder on hand; others run a short parallel stretch first to build confidence. Whichever fits you, you're not doing it alone.

6. First-week support

We stay close through your first stretch live — a direct line to the founder for the busy days, so a question on a Saturday morning gets a real answer.

What it takes from you

Honestly, not much — that's the point. The heavy lifting is on us; here's the short list of what we need from your side.

An export of your data

We'll tell you exactly what to pull from your current system — usually a few exports. If you're not sure how, we'll walk you through it.

A little of your team's time

The fit call, a look at the import preview, and a training session for your staff. We work around your schedule — not the other way around.

An operator's eye

As a founding facility, your feedback shapes what ships next. You don't have to be technical — you just have to know how a kennel really runs.

Most founding facilities are live within about a week. Because each onboarding is done by hand, we scope your exact timeline on the fit call — and we won't rush your go-live to hit a date.

One caveat on that timeline: automated client text-message (SMS) reminders come online on a separate track. Before a business can send automated texts in the US, carriers require a registration step — A2P 10DLC, handled through Twilio — and that approval takes longer than the rest of setup, with timing partly out of our hands. We start it early in onboarding so it's ready as soon as it clears.

Onboarding questions, answered

Only if you want to. It depends on your facility: some operators do a founder-supported hard cutover on a chosen day, others run a short parallel stretch first to build confidence before fully switching. We plan the approach that fits your comfort and complexity on the fit call.

It comes with you. We migrate your customers, pets, vaccine records, and reservation history into BarkWhiz, and you review a preview — record counts and key workflows — and sign off before go-live. You're not starting from a blank slate.

Gingr is the one we've proven — we bring your customers, pets, vaccine records, and reservation history across from it. On any other system, migration is hands-on and founder-led: send us an export and we'll confirm exactly what comes over on your fit call, before you commit. We'd rather check your real data than promise a one-click import we haven't run for your setup.

No. For founding facilities, white-glove onboarding and migration are included in membership — not a separate line item. Founding pricing is locked in for life on top of that.

That's exactly what the reconciliation review is for. You see the preview and we fix discrepancies together — nothing goes live until the numbers match and you've signed off. Catching it before cutover is the whole point of doing it by hand.

Most founding facilities are live within about a week. Because each onboarding is hands-on, we scope your exact timeline on the fit call based on your data and how your team likes to switch — and we won't rush your go-live to hit a date.

Texting comes online a little after the rest. Before a business can send automated texts in the US, carriers require a registration step — A2P 10DLC, handled through Twilio — and that approval takes longer than the rest of onboarding and is partly out of our hands. So your core BarkWhiz is live within about a week; automated client texting follows once the registration clears. We start it early so it's ready as soon as possible, and we'll keep you posted on timing.
